TITLE OF SURVEY-Erotic Labor Market Survey (ELMS)

This research is being conducted by Crysta Heart and Serpent Libertine in conjunction with DePaul University’s Social Science Research Center. For more information about the investigators, please see: http://adultindustrytruth.com/researcher-bios

PURPOSE OF STUDY

This anonymous survey is for persons that work (or have worked) in the erotic labor market and sex work  http://adultindustrytruth.com/terminology/  fields, persons that work (or have worked) in close proximity to those workers, and those that purchase (or have purchased) sexual labor or services whether through direct or indirect contact. Our purpose is to examine the awareness and reporting of human trafficking among the various outlets of the commercialized sex trade in the United States. Additionally, we will be trying to assess if any demographic factors play a part in prevalence, awareness or reporting of human trafficking. Please limit your responses to experiences within the United States sex industry for this study.

WHAT WILL BE DONE WITH RESULTS

Our findings will be used to create industry standard protocols and education for adult industries in the U.S. about human trafficking, as well as to help develop methods for increased reporting from those communities.

IP tracking has been disabled, and SSL encryption is enabled to protect anonymity respondents using the online survey.  We ask that mail-in surveys are not signed, and do not include any return address.  This survey is meant to be completely anonymous.

All answers will be grouped, and any identifying remarks made in the answers will be removed to protect survey respondents’ identities. Survey results will also be used to educate anti-trafficking groups and the general public about ways that adult/sex industries address human trafficking.
